Sister is a young dog with loads of personality. She loved to greet people by jumping up. Its unfair to punish a dog when they simply want to greet you, it would be like me slapping you in the face if you simply extend your hand for me to shake. Far more appropriate is to teach your dog to sit or down as impulse control and then reward them with a greeting. This is especially important when dogs live around children that will bring more children into the home. Dogs jumping on kids, even in play, can be intimidating and rude and just not an acceptable way for them to behave. Sister is doing a good job here of curbing her need to jump even when i run around and become more animated.
