Knowing my dog is wild and needs to get his energy out every day, I was nervous on what to do when I needed to work long hours. Since he is so wild I always get nervous when I have someone come over even if they know him, but after seeing how comfortable JJ was with him during the consultation I felt better about it. Having JJ come over to play with him and to feed him was so helpful. I felt she cared about his well-being. My favorite was getting pictures and updates text to me after her visits so I did not have to wait until I got home to find out how he was doing. I will definitely use her again the next time I need help with my dog.
JJ has been a life saver for our family. We had lost our previous family pet of twelve years and decided to get two puppies so they would have playmates. To say we were overwhelmed would be an understatement. Add to this an unexpected family health crisis and we were in over our heads. JJ stepped in and helped us in so many ways. We were out of practice with training techniques, JJ was there to guide and “teach” us the tricks. We had days we were overwhelmed caring for the adults in the family, JJ was there to take the puppies for a walk which include proper walking techniques. We’ve had times when we have had to leave town and JJ has been there to pet sit our puppies so that we could go on with our responsibilities and not worry about the pups well being. While staying with her, she provides continuing guidance so that our pups are progressing with their training. Our family will forever be indebted to JJ for all the love and support she has given this family. Whether it be training or pet sitting, you can’t do better than JJ.
JJ was amazing. I only did the sleepover but she addressed more than just that. My pet, Brutus, a Mastiff puppy of over 100 pounds even came back acting better. She noticed some things for us to address and her attention to detail is remarkable. You can tell she truly loves what she does, as it reflects in her performance and professionalism.
JJ made such an impression on my kitties. Found my normally shy cat, standing at the door waiting for her. She kept me well informed the entire time we were gone. After a tornado she made sure the girls were fine and my house was secure. She went above and beyond the call of duty. Would highly recommend her.
One on One traing with JJ was a blessing to our family. Jake responded well to JJ and her techniques. He went from “wildman crazy pup” to a well behaved pup! Without having to do any major correction, we now have a dog who can be around people and listens when called!

JJ has been invaluable to our family in providing training for our daughter’s seizure alert dog. Unfortunately, our initial experience with another trainer was not positive. In contrast, JJ has been excellent in communicating with both our family and our service dog as we continue to build on his seizure alert and assistance skills. She is very knowledgeable, but is also willing to go above-and-beyond to find additional information any time we have needed it. She provides notes from each training session and informational handouts or videos for us to review between sessions. She is flexible and willing to work with our family’s busy schedule to ensure that the training session is the most productive. She has also been fantastic in teaching our 10 year old daughter how to communicate, handle, and best interact with her service dog. It is obvious that JJ is truly passionate about what she does. I highly recommend JJ to anyone who is in need of pet care or dog training!!!
Finding JJ was a miracle! Her pet care services, especially the canine slumber parties, put me at ease while I’m traveling. I never have any inhibitions about going anywhere because of the quality pet care our black lab, Blitz, is receiving. JJ also helped us transform Blitz from the easily distracted and overly-aroused 95lb puppy into a focused, and mature dog. I highly recommend all of JJ’s Dogsmith services. She has sincere passion for her job and treats all of her clients like family and so, you will not be disappointed.
Since I got my GSD in May 2014 , there was hardly a day without him. But then there was this 12 day trip to Europe that he couldn’t be included in. This is where JJ comes into the picture through a recommendation from Schonwasser Shepherds . JJ first came to our house to meet all of us and Dax liked her immediately , whether it was the treats or her gentleness , I don’t know , but he sure did like her . Dropping him off at her beautiful , well kept , and meticulously maintained home was very difficult , but she made it easier then expected by introducing him gently to his new environment . She then regularly sent photos and videos to us so we can see how he was playing , running , and overall enjoying himself. It is clear to see that she loves animals , and they know it . Dax was in a safe , welcoming place where he was playing and romping and having a great time with her dogs .He ate good food , met new friends, and had a terrific time – sort of like at a resort ! She offers an excellent service for dog owners and it is without hesitation that I recommend her ,and I would leave Dax there again knowing he is getting the best of care and in good hands . This area is very fortunate to have this dedicated and knowledgeable lady providing a myriad of services for our canine family members .
I have used DogSmith twice, once was a planned event, and I was so impressed with the service, that 2 weeks later, when I had to travel on short notice, I called again.
