First CNBC announces they will air the pet food documentary A Dog's Breakfast. Then they remove it from the schedule with no set date to reschedule. Did CNBC remove the documentary from the schedule because of pressure of Big Pet Food?
When I heard from many Pet Owners that the documentary Pet Food: A Dog's Breakfast did not show on the CNBC schedule, I sent CNBC an email question what happened. This is the response I received...

Because CNBC didn't tell me when or if the film would air or why the film was removed from the schedule, I emailed them again. Three days later, with no response, I called their Viewer Services phone number (which was difficult to find).
I spoke with Lisa who told me A Dog's Breakfast was "removed from the schedule this week" and their was no specific date set to air the film; she advised I should just "keep watching the schedule". I asked her why the film was removed...she didn't know why. So I asked to speak to someone that would know why. She said a supervisor would return my call.
Within a few minutes, Shannon returned my call. Shannon stated she did not have a reason the film was removed from the schedule; that "CNBC reserves the right to change programming at any time". I told Shannon that "this film was aired in Canada over three years ago. I spoke with the producers of the documentary - Yap Films - and they shared with me how difficult it was to get interest in the film from U.S. television." I shared with Shannon that I've seen the film and it contains some "damming evidence against the pet food industry". I also shared with Shannon that because of the content in the film, Pet Owners are going to feel that CNBC has caved to the pressure of Big Pet Food and their big advertising budgets.
Shannon advised me that CNBC would welcome emails or letters from Pet Owners; "to give CNBC an indication of what the views want". So...if you want to see Pet Food: A Dog's Breakfast, tell CNBC.
